God is the great escape!

When we go on vacation, we often like to "release our inhibitions!" We let go of our cares and worries by making sure we finished up our work for the week, dropped the kids off at the nanny, made all the travel arrangements and reservations. We are free from obligations just like that.  For most people, that will be a Friday afternoon.

Turns out that even when everything is going seemingly perfect, most of us still feel like something is missing. There will always be a sense of lack when you haven't acknowledged that God is within you. Acknowledging the presence of His Spirit in everyday life, trusting that you are victorious in every battle because Jesus has already won the battle on your behalf.

It is an intimate relationship that you have to work on everyday. You constantly carry the cross of your ego, letting Christ live through you. In his work titled, "Dying to Self," Dr. D. W. Ekstrand wrote:

"The individual who “dies to self” understands that God created him for a reason; that he is a part of God’s plan for the world. To be used of God one must understand the essence of who he now really isand how it is that God can use him. Every genuine child of God wants to be used by God to accomplish His purposes in the world — Jesus said, “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples” (Jn 15:8).

That is the essence of God’s plan – we are saved to bear fruit; created in Christ Jesus for good works (Eph 2:10). We bear fruit when Christ lives His life in and through us (Jn 15:5; Gal 2:20). The apostle Paul said, “For me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Phil 1:21). The Lord wants us to live a godly and spiritually productive happy life."

When you let go and let God, you are on the right track to being aligned with God's will. (Proverbs 3:4-6.) To "let go," doesn't mean be stagnate - keep God first in the face of all adversities and He will light your path. Take action while you wait for your blessing. There are no limits as to what kind of blessings can come from having complete faith and patience in the work of God.

1 John 5:3-5 in my words:

God said in order to show that we love Him, we need to obey His commandments. He did not establish his commandments to cause you any discomfort or restriction. For whatever comes from God, conquers the world (whoever is a new person born in Christ is victorious already.) The victory that conquers the evil of this world is our faith. Other than someone who believes that Jesus is the Son of God, who else can conquer the world? - (popular opinion: no one.)

If you are curious as to what God said he had in store for you as His child, here's that instruction:
11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." - Jeremiah 29:11-13

A prayer:

Heavenly Father, fill us with your presence and power, so we may be your beacons of light and hope and peace in the world. Amen.
