Before you read the Bible, pray this prayer

Heavenly Father, I am so excited to dedicate this time to you today. I pray that the eyes of my heart will be open as I spend time in your word and I ask for total focus while I read. May I be filled with the didactic spirit that allows me to immerse myself in the word, and discover those hidden messages that will be a blessing to me by revealing who you are and your calling for me.  You said in your word that I shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God, let this word be food to my soul and victual for my spirit. As I go through my day, I pray that this word shall not depart from my mouth, instead, I will meditate on it day and night so that I may be careful to do what I have read for then I will be prosperous and successful.  Thank you, Father, for access to this wonderful word that is a guide for my life.   In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Teach us to pray - Part 2

The Lord’s prayer When you try to create an index of what Jesus was ultimately saying when He taught us to pray, you would get something along the lines of this: 1. Worshiping the Father 2. God’s kingdom 3. God’s will/guidance 4. Our daily needs 5. Forgiveness/relationships 6. Spiritual warfare Over the few lines that this took to say, Jesus had covered almost everything that a human could pray from a high level. What better prayer to pray, other than the one that came from the Lord? Devotional reference: Luke 11:2-4 Matthew 6:9-13 Meditate/read over John 17. Paraphrased: Jesus is saying that to all those that love Him and know that He was sent by God and is of God, they shall also be blessed and filled with God’s spirit just as He was. Do you believe in your heart that this is true? “2/3 of my journey through the plan, “Teach Us to Pray”, by Rob White and Malcolm Down Publishing.” - Bible App

Teach us to pray - Part 1

Prayer is not entertainment, it is a time of fellowship with God You should have a place to pray regularly, to mentally and spiritually look forward to going to this meeting place to meet with God. It’s not about the words, length, or repetition of your prayers - it’s about the quality. You must concentrate on living a life that isn’t contradictive and having the right attitude.  The concept of 3D prayer - Desire, Discipline, and Delight. First, you have to want to be in communion with God, to be a person of prayer. You can ask God to plant this desire in you by His Spirit.   Second, we need discipline. Every day you should check in with yourself to be sure you are staying on track with your spiritual goals. It is by God’s amazing grace that we are able to have a personal connection with him just by accepting Jesus Christ as our savior and to have our lives renewed through his Spirit. Lastly, is Delight. Prayer will become a delight for you! By spending time with God and reall

God is the great escape!

When we go on vacation, we often like to "release our inhibitions!" We let go of our cares and worries by making sure we finished up our work for the week, dropped the kids off at the nanny, made all the travel arrangements and reservations. We are free from obligations just like that.  For most people, that will be a Friday afternoon. Turns out that even when everything is going seemingly perfect, most of us still feel like something is missing. There will always be a sense of lack when you haven't acknowledged that God is within you. Acknowledging the presence of His Spirit in everyday life, trusting that you are victorious in every battle because Jesus has already won the battle on your behalf. It is an intimate relationship that you have to work on everyday. You constantly carry the cross of your ego, letting Christ live through you. In his work titled, " Dying to Self ," Dr. D. W. Ekstrand wrote: "The individual who “dies to self” understands tha

Why are we on earth? Our Mission and Message

Our mission here on earth is to reach out with genuine kindness and care to all people, young and old, white and black, poor and rich - welcoming them warmly into our community of faith. Our message is that death does not have the last word. Hope is real. God is alive. For Christ has destroyed the powers of darkness and death and brought us into a new and immortal life with him. In our weekly worship and daily devotions, our Lord fills us anew with the joy and peace and purpose which can be found nowhere else. - An excerpt from " The Saving Passion", Inspiration from Henri J.M. Remember Who You Are

This came to me as I was sitting in nature one day: "Your branches may sway and leaves may fall away, but be smart. You always come back into your true form. Don't allow small storms to cause you to uproot. Even a tree struck by lightening finds a way to provide life again." An Explanation:  I hope that you see the crown (top) of the tree as your crown .   You are royalty. True princes and princesses. The tree trunk represents your body .  Your earthly vessel. Remember you are a spiritual being experiencing a human experience rather than a human that has spiritual experiences. The tree branches or the "arms" represent your life situations or the years of your life .  The under-branches or the branches that grow out from the larger tree branches represent your life lessons .  The months, day, or time periods in your life. If you were to take a look back at each one of the years of your life, would you be able to write down all the lessons that

Endurance. Patience.

I prayed "Lord give me wisdom." They say silence holds the answer - I've been curious.. patiently awaiting a message to come to me.  I worried - I get a little anxious on the path to this new beginning. Were the decisions I've made worth it?  You see, the trees are rooted to the earth and sprout out their branches wide & tall. It's effortless. They sway with the directions of the wind, but they don't loose structure. Always falling back into it's natural formation no matter how long the breeze takes to pass.
